In July, I participated in Camp NaNoWriMo for the first time. I have previously participated in NaNoWriMo challenges which take place every November, but I fancied writing at a different time of year.
Currently I am part the way through studying my MA in Professional Creative Writing at Coventry University. While writing is a discipline, I have found that along the way I have lost some of my creative flair. This is not something I want to do so I decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo 2021 to see if I could re-capture the essence of my fantasy fiction novel and see if any new inspiration would strike me.
Though I couldn’t complete as much as I wanted to during this Camp, with the help and advice from fellow NaNoWriMo writers via our Facebook group, I think I’ve managed to crack the writer’s block I was feeling. I have started to pick apart elements of my fantasy fiction novel to build it back up again by creating new outlines and prompts as I continue to write my passion project.
Break that writers block and keep free writing!
